Press illustrator and cartoonist, close to the PCF, he collaborated with the Communist press (L'Humanité, Les Lettres françaises) but also with a wide range of newspapers (Libération, Le Figaro, L'Express, France Soir, Elle, Paris-Match, Point de vue - Images du Monde...). He was particularly keen to popularize one of the symbols of the Republic - Marianne with her red Phrygian cap.
