Model of a ship of the line, planked on frames, the dead works partly clad in brass (copper on the real one). Hull pierced with sixty-six cannons, modeled after the French Royal Navy ship LE BRILLANT. 17th/18th century. Missing and later additions, including ship's bell and compass near the helm. Overall length approx. 123 cm, H: 96 cm Provenance: Gustave Alaux (naval painter/1887-1965) via the estate of Jean-Pierre Alaux.
