Fashion - Poiret Dress in the 18th-century style for a costume ball, by Paul POIRET, Paris, lampas, 18th-century style, cream satin ground decorated with flowers and blue stripes, brick-red taffeta bodice, lace sleeves. Stencil in Le Bonheur du Jour, 1920-1924, shows mademoiselle Sorel in an eighteenth-century-style gown, comparing herself to the bust of la du Barry, reproduced in Harold Koda & Andrew Bolton, Poiret, p. 33 Possibly for : Les Fêtes de Bacchus given at Le Butard on June 20, 1912 at Madame Paul Poiret's home. The frontispiece of the libretto shows a dancer in 18th-century garb.
