Silk lampas, Tassinari & Chatel, 18th century style, in the taste of the weaving for the Queen's billiard table at Versailles, cream satin ground, yellow and cream decoration of trophies in medallions in a palm wreath and garland of flowers. Woven as a replica of Charton's hanging for the winter furniture in Queen Marie-Antoinette's inner cabinet at the Château de Versailles, 20th century, style of 1779, after drawings by Gondoin. Charton's lampas pattern was rewoven for Empress Eugénie's Tuileries apartments in 1859, then from 1985 to 1988, for the billiard table in Marie-Antoinette's petits appartements at Versailles.
