SPEAR THROWER / WOOMERA The Western Australian spear thrower is made of hardwood. It has certainly been worked with animal teeth on the reverse side and has superb ceremonial patterns typical of the Kimberley region. The front was certainly made with stone and shell for the finishing touches. The grip has a very long rare shape and the spike is fixed with vegetable tar (spinifex). Work from the beginning of the 20th century. 75 x 10.5 cm Provenance : Queensland private collection, English collection, Boomerang gallery (Amsterdam), Peter Madden collection (Netherlands)
