Olivier DEBRE (1920-1999) - Lot 34
Olivier DEBRE (1920-1999) Untitled Brush and Indian ink on paper, signed lower right. 50 x 65 cm Provenance: Collection of Pierre Boudot Pierre BOUDOT was born in Besançon in 1930. He became an important philosopher of the 20th century and a wise art collector. After graduating from the Sorbonne in 1955 with a thesis on L'inquiétude existentielle et ses solutions under the direction of Jean Wahl, he devoted a large part of his work to Nietzsche. Pierre Boudot is also a writer and author of novels, essays and plays, as well as a literary columnist and producer for Radio France. Particularly interested in questions relating to creation, he befriends the great gallery owner Marcelle Berr de Turique (1894-1991) from whom he acquires works by many major artists of the past century, such as Olivier Debré and Pierre Degottex. In 1964, Pierre Boudot created a cultural college in Burgundy in which Olivier Debré exhibited. Pierre Boudot died suddenly in 1988, not without having been a laureate of the French Academy, awarded by the International Society of Nietzschean Studies and a prize winner of the International French Language Radio Community.
